Welcome to the Belconnen Community Council

The Belconnen Community Council is a volunteer-led community organisation. Our role is to foster Belconnen's community identity and to be a strong voice for the community.

BCC public meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month from February to November, starting at 7pm on the ZOOM Virtual Meeting Platform. Meetings are public, and anyone who lives, works, studies or owns property in Belconnen is invited to participate.

πŸ›οΈ Kippax Fair Expansion Plans πŸ›’Kippax Fair has recently unveiled their concept plans for an all-new and expanded shopping centre for public comment. This redevelopment is indented to upgrade the Kippax Group Centre by offering modern supermarkets, specialty stores, dining options, parking, community facilities, and parks.πŸ—ΊοΈ Where to See the Plans:Head to Kippax Fair, near the stage area opposite the Woolworths entrance, to check out the model of the plan.🀝 Community Involvement:Kippax Fair has expressed their desire to keep engaging with the local community, and have promised to keep us informed every step of the way. As they move forward with this project, they are seeking the community's views!🌟 The Proposal Includes:- A brand-new Kippax Fair with three times more retail space;- Two modern full-line supermarkets, featuring Woolworths and Coles (plus Aldi);- 450 new underground parking spaces;- Elimination of sloping walkways;- A new skate park and a vibrant dining and social precinct;- A community hub with meeting rooms and a new library;- New pocket parks;- The creation of 500 new permanent jobs; and- The addition of 300 new homes, including affordable housing.πŸ—οΈ What's Next?Kippax Fair is eager to kick-start this development as soon as possible if the ACT Government approves the sale of the adjacent land.
