Kippax Master Plan – Media statement from the Belconnen Community Council

BCC Media release on the disappointing community outcomes from the Kippax Master Plan.

The Belconnen Community Council is a volunteer-led community organisation. Our role is to foster Belconnen's community identity and to be a strong voice for the community.

BCC public meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month from February to November, starting at 7pm on the ZOOM Virtual Meeting Platform. Meetings are public, and anyone who lives, works, studies or owns property in Belconnen is invited to participate.

An update on Charnwood. I hope not too much od an inconvenience.Have you noticed the one-way traffic flow arrangements in the car park at Charnwood’s shops this week? 🚦The parking arrangements are the first part of a series of public space improvements at the shops to improve safety and accessibility.More improvements will be rolled out in the coming months including:• new seating options and locations• repaving surfaces and installing new concrete pavement and tree surrounds• planting new trees and improving conditions for existing and new trees• replacing the existing pergola with a shade sail in a better location to support more outdoor dining opportunities• drainage improvements to address flooding issues in heavy rain between Woolworths and the Tavern• safer pedestrian crossing points throughout the carparks including replacing steps and pram ramps• adding four new accessible parking bays. The improvements will begin in April/May (weather permitting).
