An update on Charnwood. I hope not too much od an inconvenience.Have you noticed the one-way traffic flow arrangements in the car park at Charnwood’s shops this week? 🚦The parking arrangements are the first part of a series of public space improvements at the shops to improve safety and accessibility.More improvements will be rolled out in the coming months including:• new seating options and locations• repaving surfaces and installing new concrete pavement and tree surrounds• planting new trees and improving conditions for existing and new trees• replacing the existing pergola with a shade sail in a better location to support more outdoor dining opportunities• drainage improvements to address flooding issues in heavy rain between Woolworths and the Tavern• safer pedestrian crossing points throughout the carparks including replacing steps and pram ramps• adding four new accessible parking bays. The improvements will begin in April/May (weather permitting). Work will be undertaken in discreet sections over about four months to minimise disruption to shoppers and traders. To learn more about the public space improvements at Charnwood shops, visit: bit.ly/3FYrpND ...
