Request for Submissions: Inquiry into ACTION buses

UPDATE: There has been a strong response from Belconnen residents to our request -- over 25 submissions to sift through! Further information will be provided once the submission is complete. Many thanks to all those who responded.

The Belconnen Community Council is requesting stories from members of the public about their use of public transport. These stories will form the basis of a submission by the BCC to the ACT government’s Inquiry into ACTION buses.

In particular, we want to hear about:

  • How the recent changes to the ACTION timetable have affected your ability to use public transport in Canberra;
  • Occasions when you wanted or needed to use ACTION buses, but were not able to;
  • Times when ACTION bus services were delayed or failed to run, and the perceived cause of these problems; and
  • Stories about high quality bus transport in other States, or anywhere in the world, which could be usefully adopted in the ACT.

Submissions should be no more than 400 words (approximately 1 A4 page), although multiple submissions on separate issues are permissible, and must be received by 11 May 2007 in order to meet the inquiry deadline.
