Request for direct sale of a contiguous parcel of land
Calvary Health Care Pty Ltd (“Calvary”) made an application in July 2010 for a direct sale of a parcel of contiguous land along a northern edge of their current block, for use as a car park. The parcel has an area of approximately 4330m², and is part of Block 1 Section 110 Bruce. The land is currently being used as a temporary unlicensed car park.
Sale of the land will permit it to be integrated into the Hospital block, which will enable proper grading, storm water and lighting of the car park.
The sale will be at full market value.
The sale cannot occur until the parcel of land has been rezoned to Community Facility, as the proposed use of the parcel is not consistent with the current zone of the parcel.
Rezoning would require a Territory Plan Variation which would be notified to the ACT public under the usual process.
Informal public parking on this parcel has been occurring since approximately 2002 through an informal curb crossing on Mary Potter Circuit near Hyson Green.
